Dore Hammond is a film director and producer based in Yonkers.
DIVINE LIGHT: A FRANK MASON PERSPECTIVE is a profile of painter Frank Mason, who taught in the style of the Old Masters at The Art Student’s League for over fifty years. The story goes from Little Italy in New York to Rome Italy and beyond as it explores the scope and depth of Mr. Mason's illustrious career.
PLUCK(an Atkinson-Hammond LLC1 Production) is a forty-five minute documentary about New York City in the 1950s through the early 1960s. The film sings the praises of the people who contributed to the culture of the city and to the world. New York’s varied cultural life during this decade is explored by Hammond’s personal interviews of notable New Yorkers such as William F. Buckley Jr., Dick Hyman, Betty Comden, Magnum photographer Burt Glinn, Everett Raymond Kinstler, Eileen Ford, and many others.
Hammond’s work as a producer has captured the attention of the industry with awards including: CINE GOLDEN EAGLES, IFP AUDIENCE AWARD, BEST SHORT DURANGO FILM FESTIVAL, PRINCESS GRACE AWARD. Her films have screened at THE PALM SPRINGS INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF SHORT FILMS, AVIGNON/NEW YORK FILM FESTIVAL, EAST HAMPTON ’S GUILD HALL, THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES, TIBURON FILM SOCIETY, and THE ANNAPOLIS FILM FESTIVAL. Her work as a filmmaker has been covered by THE NEW YORK TIMES and MORE MAGAZINE.
In addition to her work in film, Hammond is a founding Board Member of the Annual Westchester Film Festival, and has served on the Board of The New York City Junior League and Fleetwood Stage. A graduate of Boston University with an NYU certificate in Film Production and a former Ford model, she has an informed understanding of both sides of the camera. Her experience as an Account Executive at both Estee Lauder and BBDO complements this knowledge with an appreciation of creativity as an important aspect of business.
