Love Thyself, Stop The Violence Day-- April 7
It's not quite an arts event, but there will be some art involved, so I'm adding it to the list. The city is sponsoring the Fourth Annual "Love Thyself, Stop the Violence" Day. There will be a parade at noon (starting in front of the Nepperhan Community Center) and then there will be a Poetry Slam & Comic Book awards at the Riverfront Public Library.
Other sponsors include the Yonkers Public Schools, the Yonkers Public Library, C.H. Martin's, The Downtown/Waterfront BID and the Yonkers Violence & Gang Prevention Coalition.
If you'd like to join the parade, you can email Paula Crawford at ruthnadine@yahoo.com
If you'd like to find out more, call Majority Leader (and Council Person) Patricia McDow's Office: 914-377-6311 or visit her website online:
