Whoever said that art and commerce don’t mix was clearly mistaken. Since 1997 Greenwich Connecticut's Art to the Avenue has successfully been doing just that. Every May, with the enthusiastic support of the Greenwich business community, the Arts Council has turned Greenwich Avenue and adjacent streets into a strolling art gallery. It has become one of Greenwich's largest arts events.
This year, (the tenth anniversary of the event) a number of Blue Door Artists are featured in the exhibit, including Anne Ferencz, Lea Weinberg, Marie McCann-Barab, and Anne Bobroff-Halal. All of them will have artwork featured in the stores of Greenwich. (Not sure about the others, but Anne Bobroff-Halal's work will be in the restaurant Asiana (130 E. Putnam St), where her work will be on display until May 28.
If you are driving down 95 or the Merritt and would like to stop for a quick art fix, it sounds like a fine idea!
