James Humphrey

James Humphrey is an internationally known poet and abstract artist. He has published over 18 volumes of poetry, two novels, and has an impressive body of work. He has two volumes of poetry enshrined in the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame, and all of his publications are in Brown University's archive collection. He has been a Nobel Literary Finalist four times for his work.

In addition to writing poetry, Jim also makes abstract paintings and drawings, many of which have appeared in galleries around the country. When asked where he gets his ideas to paint, he says, " I dig into my heart facing the canvas, board, or blank writing paper with an empty head, and paint and write for myself. Hopefully, I learn something about myself."
