The Yonkers Cultural Initiative is part of a program to support cultural services in the rapidly developing City of Yonkers. The goal of The Yonkers Cultural Initiative is to bolster funding for organizations that provide theater, music, instructional programming, and community multi-arts programs for the public.
Legislator Kenneth Jenkins comments: “At this time, the City of Yonkers, the 4th largest city in New York State, is undergoing major commercial redevelopment and currently thousands of housing units are being built,” said Jenkins. “With the influx of new residents, The Yonkers Cultural Initiative puts additional dollars behind a flourishing network of arts organizations that provide a rich array of educational and enrichment opportunities in Yonkers.”
