Pope's visit inspires artwork

Under the umbrella of the Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront Business Improvement District's program "Evolution Arts", Biagio (Gino) Civale will show fourteen artworks created during the last five years. Jacqueline Bouet, Director of the LOFT (dance + fitness) has assigned one of its spacious exercise rooms, at 92 Main Street, Yonkers, to host the works by Civale, a Yonkers resident.

The first exhibition will take place from 3.00 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday April 20. The public is invited and the exhibit is free of charge. The artist will be on site for any dialogue with the visitors. Among the artworks will be a painting Civale has realized for the occasion of the visit of the Pope to Yonkers. The work "Eglise" is on a panel, and conveys an abstract feeling of religiousness.

Should the Seminary in Yonkers or a Church of Yonkers desire this work, Civale will donate it willingly. Most of the artworks are large compositions, some reaching 112" in length and 55" in height. The technique used is primarily mixed media on canvas. For any question about the artwork email StudioCivale@msn.com or call 914 965 5703.
