See the Waterfalls from Yonkers on Aug. 27

You've probably heard about the latest summer public art sensation-- The New York City Waterfalls. Four manmade waterfalls ranging in height from 90-120 feet rising out of the New York Harbor. Brainchild of Danish artist Olafur Eliasson, these four waterfalls are monumental testaments to engineering and the simple beauty of water and fluid dynamics.

On Wednesday, August 27, Yonkers Arts will lead a trip on the NY Water Taxi to see the waterfalls. Yonkers Arts is a newly formed nonprofit organization that has as its mission to advance and support the arts in the City of Yonkers. This trip will benefit the organization.

During the trip, Barbara Segal, a Yonkers public artist and adjunct professor at the School of Visual Arts, will give a short lecture on the Waterfalls and the artist. Once you disembark at South Street Seaport, Yonkers artist Haifa Bint-Kadi will lead a hands-on arts workshop for kids and adults alike to create an artistic pop-up Waterfall card.

The trip leaves promptly at 5:30 pm from the Yonkers Pier in downtown Yonkers, and will leave the South Street Seaport at 7:30 pm, arriving back at the Pier at around 8:30 pm.
Tickets are $25 each for adults ($15 for kids 3-16, under 3 is free), and all proceeds will benefit the organization.

SPACE IS LIMITED AND RESERVATIONS ARE A MUST.
