Friday, February 20, 6:30 pm—Italian Cinema Series – Riso Amaro (1948) by Giuseppe DeSantis
A Neorealist look at women laborers in the rice fields of Northern Italy in a postwar changing Italian society heavily influenced by the newly introduced American culture. This film launched the cinematic careers of Silvana Mangano and Vittorio Gassman. Introduction and commentary by Professor Aldo Belardo from Pace University. In Italian with English subtitles.

Saturday, February 28, 10:00 am—Genealogy Lecture – Learn How to Obtain Secondary Records
Including Social Security applications, military records, military replacement medals, cemetery records, New York City building photos from the 1930’s and archival photos of New York City and State. Presented by Tony Lauriano. Fee: Free, registration required.

Sunday, March 1, 3:00 pm—Film – Matrimonio all’Italiana (1964) by Vittorio De Sica
Marriage Italian Style is a film, which tells the story of a successful businessman who kept a woman as his mistress for several years and now plans to marry another woman until his mistress pretends to be on her deathbed to induce him to marry her before she dies. Starring Sophia Loren, Marcello Mastroianni and Vito Moricone. Introduction and commentary by Author and Director Franco D’Alessandro. Light refreshments will be served during the program. Friday, March 6, 6:30 pm—Italian Cinema Series – La notte delle Stelle – Cadenti (1948) by Paolo & Vittorio Taviani
The Night of the Shooting Star is an extraordinary touching drama depicting the absurdities of war and the cruelties inflicted upon a group of Italian peasants during the final days of World War II. Sunday, March 8, 3pm—Totò’s Poetry in Word and Music – Omaggio a Totò
A selection of songs and poems written by Antonio De Curtis – Totò (1898 – 1967), including the well-known poem ‘A livella and the famous song Malafemmena’, performed by Laura Caparrotti. The evening will include the 55 minute documentary You Don’t Know Who Totò Is! (Lei non sa chi e’ Totò! Italy, 2004) Refreshments will be served during the program.

Tuesday, March 10, 7:00 pm—Sapori D’Italia- Signature Culinary Demonstrations & Dinner
A Cena con San Domenico, a culinary demonstration with the executive chef Odette Fada from San Domenico Restaurant in New York City. Four course dinner accompanied by wines, featuring signature dishes from the world famous San Domenico Restaurant. Espresso coffee service to follow.

Saturday, March 21, 2:00 pm—Children’s Culinary Class – Gnocchi
Children will have a lot of fun while learning new skills. After this class little chefs will be pros at making the dough for pasta and gnocchi, rolling it out, shaping it and cooking it perfectly al dente. For children ages 5–12.

Wednesday, March 25, 6:00 – 8:00 pm—Open House– The Best of Campania
The volcanic soils of Campania grow some of the best produce in Italy. Join us for a wonderful evening and experience delectable products from Campania including wines, olive oil and cheeses. Sponsored by Supreme Wines and Spirit and Sarra Imports.

Friday, March 27, 6:30 pm—Italian Cinema Series– Pane e Cioccolato (1973) by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani
