The Yonkers Downtown Waterfront Business Improvement District will team up with the Yonkers Public Library to present “Heart, Funk And Soul,” a free Valentine’s Day concert. Two top NY metro area bands—Funkasaurus Rex, a jazz-funk band and Garry Sieger & Friends, a classic R & B and soul group—will perform from 7:30 to 10:00 PM, Friday, February 11, at the Yonkers Riverfront Library, 1 Larkin Center, Yonkers.
Created in 2005 by tenor saxophonist Joey Berkley, Funkasaurus Rex features a dynamic, five-piece horn section with a versatile rhythm section. The veteran New York musicians (a virtual ‘who’s who’ of the music industry) include Bill Harris, alto sax; Brian Pareschi, trumpet; Seneca Black, trumpet; Matt McDonald, trombone; John Tropea, guitar; Sarah Cion, keyboards; Seth Glassman, bass and Chris Parker, drums. Guitarist Gary Sieger and his seasoned professionals have performed with many well-known artists and, for the past year, have been playing regularly at Creole Restaurant and Jazz Club in Manhattan.
