Open Call for Choreographers.

The Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography (MANCC) at Florida State University is requesting proposals from choreographers interested in working with the Limón Dance Company through MANCC’s Free to Rep program February 3-16, 2008 in Tallahassee, FL. The deadline for proposal submission is September 3, 2007. If you know any choreographers who you think may be interested in applying or who would be good for Limón to consider working with, please forward this email to them.

MANCC’s Free to Rep program provides subsidized research and development time for U.S. based repertory companies and choreographers who have not previously worked together. The primary goal of the two week program is to encourage artistic exploration in a supportive environment void of the usual time and financial constraints surrounding many commissioning structures. Past Free to Rep participants include (2007) AXIS Dance Company (CA) with Isabel Croxatto (Chile), Alex Ketley (CA), Shinichi Iova-Koga (CA) and Kate Weare (NY) and (2006) Philadanco (PA) with Uri Sands (MN), Bridget Moore (NY) and Take Ueyama (NY) and Anouk van Dijk (Netherlands).

Thank you,
Lindsay Meeks
