week days: 9am - 4:30pm
Beginning Wednesday, April 22, visitors to Yonkers City Hall
at 40 South Broadway, will be treated to a visual change of
pace. A new exhibit, "City Haul: Trash2Treasure", an exhibit of
sculpture made with recycled/ repurposed/ recovered materials
will be on display from Wednesday, April 22 through Friday, May
29, 2009, 9- 4:30pm on weekdays. The exhibit is curated by Yonkers
Sculptor Barbara Segal, and features the works of Leandra
Abbott, Gloria Levine, Bruce Levy, Rubely Melo, Jeanne D. Shaw,
Cora Weis, and Peter Wilcox. The theme of the show is
especially appropriate during this month of Earth Day
celebrations. These artists have given new life to that which
all too often ends up in land fills, wood chippers, or littering
the environment. It is recycling at its best.
