Riverdale Rep's The Drowsy Chaperone (November 13-21)

On the heels of their wildly successful production of THE MUSIC MAN last spring, the Riverdale Repertory Company at the Riverdale Y is one of the first amateur theatres in our area to present

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE!

This Tony Award winning musical is a throw back to a time of the old fashioned musical, but with a twist; the charming show is told through the imagination of a New Yorker. While sitting in the comfort of his apartment, he plays the record for the audience as we "literally" watch the musical come to life. With a jazzy score and a cast of zany characters that include Star-Crossed Lovers, a couple of Gangsters (disguised as Pastry Chefs), the "Drowsy" chaperone, a tap-dancing Best Man, Aldolpho (the King of Romance!), the cigar-smoking Producer and his Chorine, a Ditsy Socialite and her Butler, an Aviatrix that shows up in time for the happy ending and so much more.

Come and escape to the 1920's!
