HartBeat Ensemble has been known for over 10 years as Hartford, Connecticut's home for new and local work.
Currently they are accepting submissions for their inaugural NewWorks/NewWorld: A Latina/o PlayFest. The festival will showcase Hartford’s diverse community by celebrating Latina/o playwrights who align with HartBeat's mission of telling stories that explore voices that often go unheard. Selected plays will present their works to the public as a staged reading.

WHERE: HartBeat Ensemble’s Carriage House Theater and Storrs House 360 Farmington Ave, Hartford, CT.
Mainstage readings will be held at the Carriage House Theater, Studio readings will occur at the Storrs House.
WHO: Who can submit? Playwrights, ensembles, and theater companies with new or unproduced work that explores the voice, culture, and experience of Latino America. Local Hartford, CT area Latina/o playwrights and their companies are strongly encouraged to submit. Spanish, English and Bi-lingual plays are accepted.
Deadline: April 21, 2014
Selected plays will be notified by May 5, 2014
