Barbara Segal

Barbara Segal is known for both her striking realism and her playful abstractionism. Her stone sculptures are described as provocative and exquisitely carved. She has an extensive history of private exhibitions in museums and galleries as well as public art projects. Her works are represented in the White House Collection, The Neuberger Museum of Art collection, The Forbes Collection and others.

Ms. Segal’s work and life have been reviewed in The New York Times, Sculpture Magazine, Art in New England, The Journal News, and Arts and Antiques. Her awards include an MTA Commission in 2002 and a HUD Grant in 1995.




Ms. Segal has participated in several public art projects, most notably "The Wave" at the Yonkers MetroNorth Rail Station at Larkin Plaza and the Yonkers Sculpture Meadow on the Hudson. She was the founder and executive director of Art On Main Street/Yonkers Inc.

Barbara is currently with the faculty of The School of Visual Arts in NYC and Westchester Community College. She lives in the historic Park Hill section of Yonkers, NY with her husband and son.
