Hamm & Clov Stage Company (named for two characters in Samuel Beckett’s “Endgame”) is a non-profit organization established in 1972 and incorporated in New York in 1973 for the development, production, and exchange of theatrical works by playwrights, musicians, dancers, and media artists from around the world.
Hamm & Clov was a charter member and served on the Board of Directors of OOBA, the Off-Off Broadway Alliance now known as A.R.T./New York. The company produced in Manhattan at such venues as the Manhattan Theatre Club, Theatre at St. Clement’s, and Classic Stage Company before establishing a home at the AMDA Theatre on Bleecker Street. Invited to international theatre festivals in Edinburgh and Berlin, the company toured Europe and appeared on the BBC and Berlin Television. In New York, one of their actors was awarded an OBIE for his performance in the company’s American premiere of a play by John Arden.
Recent productions in Westchester include ANAM, FESTIVAL LATINO!, AN AISLING CHRISTMAS, WOMEN IN SONG and WEEKENDS AT GLENVIEW (at the Hudson River Museum), and ANAM CARA. In cooperation with the Yonkers Public Library, we presented Teatro IATI’s EN BARCO DE PAPEL:HOSTOS and A CONTAR CUENTOS.
