Lu Gmoser & Three For the Show

Lu Gmoser is a musical theatre scholar and producer. She is the recipient of the 2004 Untermyer Performing Arts Council Award for her efforts in promoting the performing arts in Westchester, as well as the 2001 recipient of the Cab Calloway Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award. Ms. Gmoser has been the producer of the Asbury Summer Theatre in Yonkers since 1979 and is the author of Great Composers.

Lu often presents lectures and programs on the history of musical theatre or on subjects regarding great composers and lyricists. Especially those with Westchester and Yonkers ties (including Jerome Kern, who lived in Yonkers, and Lorenz Ziegfeld, who lived in Hastings-On-Hudson. She often appears with members of Three For the Show, an itinerant group of musicians and singers that perform at her lecture/programs.
