Blue Door Artist Association Gets Its Own Gallery Space.

The Blue Door Artist Association, which is Yonkers very own Visual Artist Association, recently announced that it will have its own gallery space in downtown Yonkers. The gallery will be a venue for members as well as community artists to show their work. (Chief among them being the Yonkers Riverfront Library and the

Up until this moment, Blue Door has primarily been gypsies, moving from venue to venue.

Their inaugural exhibition in their space will take place in October.

Blue Door Takes Off
March 28th through May 9th, 2009

Blue Door Artist Association’s inaugural exhibition in our new gallery at 13 Riverdale Avenue, Just south of Main Street in Yonkers, NY.

SELECTION OF ARTWORK
Will be made by two prominent jurors, Richard Haas, International Muralist and Painter, Printmaker and Teacher. Sandra Sider, Ph.D. Fiber Artist, Critic, Curator and Art Historian.

INVITATION
All artists are to invited to submit up to three works for consideration. Go to www.BlueDoorArt.org for membership form and prospectus.
Required payment of $35 Blue Door 1 year membership dues and $35 entry fee.

ARTWORK RESTRICTIONS and SALE OF WORKS
All media accepted…original work only. Maximum size 60" in any direction. Sculpture up to 100 pounds. The gallery will provide pedestals for sculpture. There will be a 15% commission on the sale of artwork. Only work that is ready for installation and as represented for submission will be accepted.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Artists may submit up to three images by e-mail only. E-mail labeled images as attachments and send to yonkersbluedoor@gmail.com
by noon Friday, February 27, 2009. Images should be in JPEG format at 300 DPI, not larger than 1200 pixels in the longer dimension. A full view of artwork is required. A detail or 2nd view is optional but is suggested for 3D work. Digital files should be numbered. In the body of the e-mail, add a list with the following information: Number - Full View (FV) or Detail View (DV) - Artist name - Title - Size - Media - Price

IMPORTANT DATES
All entries must be received on or before Friday, February 27, 2009 by 12:00pm
Jurors’ notification via e-mail by March 6, 2009
Receiving of accepted art Saturday, March 21st, 12-6pm
Opening reception Saturday, March 28th, 2-5pm
Artists talk Saturday, April 18, 2-4pm
Removal at show's end Saturday, May 9th between 5–7pm

FEES
The $35 entry fee may be paid through PayPal at www.BlueDoorArt.org.
Entry validated after payment is received.

LIABILITY
Entries will be handled with all possible care. Artists submitting work hereby agree to hold harmless The Blue Door Artists
Association, The Blue Door Gallery, their agents, servants, and employees from any claim of damage or theft that might
arise from any cause whatsoever. Artists should obtain their own insurance. It is a requirement of entry to the exhibition
that all of the conditions stated above be understood and agreed to by the artist as a condition of entry.
